Mining hardware maker Bitmain has unveiled the next generation of its 7nm mining chip. The chip BM1397 is to be used in Antminer S17 and T17 and to make the Bitcoin mining among other things more energy-saving. Mining giant Bitmain unveiled its latest 7 nanometer chip “BM1397” on February 18th. Bitmain promises significant improvements in energy efficiency for bitcoin and bitcoin cash mining. The new chip is said to reduce energy consumption to up to 30 joules per terahash.
